What I do know is that you need a 2 stage pump in place of the stock unit. They are very $$$. Then a big old tank for the oil and lots of lines to and from the tank. I am guessing you will spend at least $1000 before your done.
Most serious race cars end up going this route, maybe some of them can chime in. |

Well the part about the $$$$ was pretty close. I had a dry sump in my race car when I bought it, as the previous owner wanted a little better insurance for a stroker 4 than the regular oil supply. The setup was a sump plate with a dash 16 suction to a two stage Autocraft front mounted pump. The out put from the scavange went to the front oil cooler and then through a dual filter to the 12 qt aluminum tank. The pressure suction came off the bottom of the oil tank and fed into the front of the engine. This requires going to a 911 type fan/alt setup and a hand made front engine mount as the pump takes some room. Figure about 30 feet total of Earl's hose and all the fittings required to plumm it, pump, tank, remote filter, alt/shroud assy and it is a good winter project. There are some picts of the four's setup in the tech section article I wrote. Good luck
