914 size "special" staples
I've begun reupholstering my 914. So far, I've sewn both seat cushions and started the drivers back piece. Did you all know that you can get a super close match to that rectangular basket weave stuff for like 20$ a yard (36x56 inches wide).
Anyways, I thought the door panels would be the easiest part and it turns out that the germans were using some form of extraterrestrial staple technology. The staples on the front, back and bottom are like "1/8". Does anyone know where I can get a handtacker and staples this size? other suggestions for fastening along these edges would also be appreciated. Thanks 14ers. |

Hadn't thought about the staple length. But my right panel is broken and I don't like the color so had thought of recovering after using masonite to make a new panel. I figured it would be too big a job to staple so thought of (as I've done on my Healey) using rubber cement and binding the edges with duct tape. The thing that bugs me is the pad at the top of the door...
