do you think i could be rubbing that little plastic block thing off? I saw somebody tell me that on this topic, and I can see how that would affect things

Depends on how long it takes for the dwell to get larger. It would take some time for the block to wear. It does wear some over time. That is why points need to be readjusted, but it should take several thousand miles.

set late December or Early January, and after maybe 1500 miles its off again, maybe thats normal....I just starting doing my own point adjustments

Before spending a lot of money on a fix, readjust and see how long the setting lasts. After you tighten the lock screw, gently try to move the plate with a screwdriver to be sure they are firmly in place. Remember, however, that overtightening the screw can strip the threads in the plate. You should only need to snug the screw, not tighten hard.

thanks....sorry for the stupid Q. My first car was a 94 Jeep YJ, never had a problem...it just got 8 mpg, because of the Ultra-Rock Crawling Gear ratios ;) not good on the highway flying at 4000RPM! LOL
