Porsche camaraderie
hey everyone, a thought just hit me while riding with my buddy in his 1977 Jeep CJ-7, every other jeep he saw would result in a mutual wave or head nod etc... and what im wondering is where is the same type of "love" for Porsche drivers? I have not seen the same kind of camaraderie as i do with the jeep owners, but maybe thats just here in Illinois?

i think there's a "save the flash" solute.. but if you're in a 914, flashing a boxter has turned up mostly negative results.

As a Jeep owner, I must say;
It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand! *waves to your friends CJ* |

"Jeep thing" my left nut.
When I had my ancient '68 MG in my pre-fossil years (the '70's), "true" sports car owners (Opel GT's, Triumph's, MG's, 911's, and even the occasional Datsun 1800/2000/240Z's) use to salute each other with a blink or a wave on passing; a tribute to the unconventional, impractical, and "sporting" spirit we had. This was WAY before "Jeeps" became yupppie, hip-hop, en-vogue "sport utility vehicles". Back then, the only people who drove "Jeeps" were farmers and battlefield commanders. Today, a "sports car" is a chopped-down Honda on 20" rims and a 5" diameter stovepipe jutting out the back. Jeep thing? Please. |
