need value opinions for 914-6 parts
I have been parting out a 914-6(I bought a basket case) and I am trying to find some fair prices(wayne has always been helpful and he has bought a few things from me)
I have the title, the chassis, and the case, with all matching numbers. However, the engine is apart, and the shell has been stripped down and the fenders have been cut completely off for flares. I am guessing that these have value together or separately to the right people . Any ideas. Also, what is the 914-6 oil cooler worth? Thanks in advance. Todd |

From what I have seen in the few months that I have been looking at 914 parts, i have found that individual parts sell alot higher that as a whole. my guess would be, if you break the car down to the smallest part or assembly, you will get the most cash. (unless you are selling to me, in which case, you shouldn't ask too much. :^) ) It will depend on how fast you want to move the parts and how much effort you want to put into taking it appart. i have had good luck listing my stuff with Pelican and with the 914 renegade site; next will be ebay.

Todd,
did David contact you about the BBS rims?..I know he's very interested. i told him i'd call you for him, but i'm in the process of moving now, and phone AND internet access has become a commodity (won't have DSL again for at least a month). if getting the rims to him is a problem, i can probably come by, pick them up and deliver it to him.. i'm constantly making trips back & forth between the houses now for the move. another thing, get on the www.rennlist.com board, it gets A LOT more traffic (a lot of whom are also here).. i think a lot of the parts you have will have a better market there... remember, i got dibs on the front suspension and maybe the F/G hood.. Jeff ps. the only e-mail i can get for now is jshyu@greenbergfarrow.com |

[Jeff
call me to discuss the front struts and hood. I will also give you those two tires if you want them. Is anyone interested in four fiberglass fenders.? David called me but was supposed to call again when he was ready to buy them. Thanks for referring him. Todd |

I tryed to e-mail tlaunchbaugh but have had no luck. I was wondering what you could tell me about the oil cooler. Is it front mounted, fender mounted, or lid mounted? What else do you have for sale? I am looking for quite a bit: front oil cooler, GT engine cover, leather wheel with 911 horn button, flares, suspension components, etc. maybe we could help each other out.
Or call me (781)273-4841 |

David..
how extensive is your search for a GT look?.. PP's own Don Haney is selling his chassis.. it's got steel flares, very professionally done, i think he was asking 6k for it.. if you can afford it, it's a steal.. i know for a fact that he spent A LOT more than he's asking for it.. Todd.. another place to post your items is www.dgi.net/914/wantads/wantadscurrent.html that's by far the most visited 914 parts listing Jeff |

David, email should work I tested it.
tlaunchbaugh@lee-associates.com I have the original 914-6 steering wheel. the threads have rotted. I also have the original chassis with custom fit full fiberglass fenders. The chassis has been stripped to bare metal(race car project) and the chassis strenghtening has been done. I would have to find out what I have into it. I also have front and rear suspension. The fronts have carrera alloy callipers. The rear lower struts have been reinforced, powdercoated, etc. I just want to get out of these what I have into them. Todd |

Well, my budget it very time dependant. I really don't care what I spend in the long run, but I am limited to what I spend at one time. Family life puts a crunch on a project car. I will stick to the chassis I own for the time being. What I am looking for are the GT embelishments, purchased a little at at time. I can't/won't spent the money on steel flares for this chassis, it's not bad, but it's not great either. If anyone has a lead on a 911 leather wheel with the round horn, a GT cover (without spending $500 at Atlanta) or 'glass flairs, let me know. I might be interestet in used sway bars, 180lb springs, 21mm bars, etc.

David..
check with your porsche dealer on those round horns.. I haven't personally gone to one to get the horn, but Bill Sparks has one in his car, and he said he got it for CHEAP at the dealership.. i don't have his e-mail here, or i'd pass it onto you, but if you're interested, search on rennlist's archive under bsparks.. or just post a message there.
