Just got one of those neat looking PORSCHE windshield banners. I installed it but there's a lot of (kinda looks like) bubbles or wet areas all over it or rather between it and the glass. Is there a secret to getting rid of these ugly things. I've heard that applying heat with a hair dryer and a squeegy would work. Anyone know if this is true and, if not, how do you do it?

Hi Bruce, I just ordered one of those last week. It hasn't arrived yet, (something about them being 8500 miles from me) I asked if by air mail, they had put it on the Columbia! Anyways, when it gets here I'll see what kind of luck I have with air bubbles.
Is it a "wet install" decal or dry? Don

Hey Bruce, the best thing to do is use glass cleaner to lube the glass before applying the vinyl, and then "squeegy" out the air with something like a credit card. Once the vinyl is on though, is you still have bubbles, the heat gun and squeegy method is probably best unless you can peel the thing up without stretchig it. I've done these before, and they're always a pain.

Don,
Instructions didn't come with mine... guess it's "common knowledge" that goes with putting these on Tom, I tried the hair dryer and a piece of plastic that came with some stripping decals and that worked pretty well but still have the tiny bubbles so I'll try your suggestion of the Windex. I think your expression "and they're always a pain" is an understatement! I even knocked off the rear view mirror! (damn) Oh well, if you can't find enough to do on the little car... create something bruce

You might just use a sewing needle and prick the bubble right in the center, than just carefully squeeze the bubble flat. It's worked for me.

You should be able to install them without bubbles by using a squeegy or credit card
The secret is to work slow and part by part Don't stick it up and then start using the squeegy... Align the decal with masking tape BEFORE you take off the protective film (the backside of the decal) Work in small increments using the squeegy You don't need a hairdryer or heat gun (that's what you use to take these decals OFF) and don't need a needle either... If the decal is already on and you've got bubbles... use the squeegy and have patience. Work from the center forcing the bubbles to the edges of the decal cheers, Jeroen |

thanks Jeroen,
I'm going to try it again doing it part by part instead of the whole thing at once. It looks good until you get 3 feet from it. bruce

Anyone have a picture of one of these installed?
I'm looking at the guy on eBay from down under selling them. I think I like it but don't want too much of the "Fast and the Furious" look going on for my baby...thanks... Andy
