Engine mounts
Ok, so I'm in the process of switching my 71 914/4 over to a 2.0 from a 76 that I stripped down last year. When I took the engine out I failed to realize that the engine bar and mounts were different until I put the engine in my car and realized the engine was about 1.5 inches too low (hey, I'm new at this stuff) and now I don't remember exactly how everything went together. I have a vauge idea of how the 2.0 engine mounts are supposed to go, but I can't figure out where the rubber mounts Pelican sells go. If anybody could get me some pictures of the 73-on engine mounts or at least explain in detail how they work, that would be great. Feel kinda dumb that I didn't pay more attention when I had the whole 76 around to look at, but too late now... Thanks guys!

Outer end: Solid metal mounts, the bar hangs from these. Inner end: The rubber mounts go in between the bar and the brackets that bolt onto the engine case.
Use the outboard solid brackets, the inboard rubber mounts, and the brackets for the inboard mounts from the later car. As well as the motor mount bar itself, of course! --DD

Thanks a bunch! Had I realized there was a difference when I was cannibalizing the rusted-in-half later car, I would have paid more attention!
