Question transmission fluid (change)

i a getting ready to change my Transmission fluid and had a couple of quick questions. (surprisingly there is no tech article on this)

i know about removing the fill plug first, but is there anything else i need to be doing at the same time as the change? any seals i should be replacing, etc.?

Nope, not really. The fluid change is regular maintenance, while seal changes are done on an as-needed basis. They do sometimes drive the transmission fluid change schedule, though! If you have a leaking shift selector shaft bushing, or a leaking speedo angle drive, you might want to change them after you drain the fluid out. (Because removing those typically dumps some or all of the fluid anyway. And makes a big mess!)
