Steel v. fiberglass
I havent done much body work in the past, and after reading a post on fender flares, I would like to hear some comments about the preference for steel or fiberglass (ie would you use one or the other all of the time, or would you prefer them for different sections)(I ask bc I need new outer rockers and am thinking about the flares). As I understand it the pros and cons are as follows:
Fiberglass- 1. low cost 2. easy for Joe 'weekend warrior' to do 3. no potential to rust 4. light weight 5. less durability Steel- 1. DURABILITY 2. higher cost (initial and labor) 3. potential for rust 4. heavier Any opinions? Thanks- Hugh |
