Are 1.8L heat xchagers compatable with 1.7L motors?
I came across a pair of 1.8L 914 heat exchagers for sale. They are currently intalled in a 74 1.8L 914. Will these be compatable with my current muffler and heads? My heads and muffler are all OEM.

As long as they are from a 74 1.8 NOT a 75-76 they should work.
Look to see if at the muffler end they turn up like the 1.7L HE's. If they go straight back they are from a 73-74 2.0L and will require a 2.0L muffler. |
