Rear Suspension
I presently have my motor and trans out to do some repairs and I noticed that the height of my rear end is where i would like it to stay with engine-trans in. What would be the best springs the put in so it would stay at that height?

In order to be able to pick the ride hight, I think you'll have to gow with the KONI-1050S sport shocks -- I think they come with adjustable spring mounts.

You might want to check out the Bilstein sport shocks for the rear, which come with adjustable spring perches. The perch rests on a big snap ring that fits into one of six grooves in the shock body...you just pick the groove you want for the proper ride height (does take a bit of trial and error).
Then use the torsion bar adjusters up front to level things out, and finish by taking your car to the alignment shop. I'm really pleased with the Bilsteins. Previously, my car had Kontrolle front cartridges and Boge rears, and the Bilsteins made the car feel tons better in transitions, and much more compliant over expansion joints etc. Good luck! |

I have the Bilstein shocks on my daughter's 914 and they work great and the height adjusts easily and the ride is firm. I use the Koni package on my race car and it is much more adjustable but it costs a lot more since it uses separate adjusters and smaller diameter springs than stock which are available in any pressure you want and the ride is very stiff. Good luck.
