Poor Runnning II
 

A followup post to my 8/2 post. My brother drove his car yesterday without doing anything to the car and it ran much worse. He states that the car is now cutting out very badly starting at about 1,000 rpms. He tried switching out the distributor which made the problem even worse. Any suggestions?

Generally, after working on something and there is a problem, the item(s) I worked on were the cause of the problem. The idea here is not to panic and make a list of each item tuned up then go back and check it. Pay close attention to the distributor, the points, the plug wires, spark plugs, etc. As has been noted here in the past, check these first as dwell and timming will very much affect the way things run. Are the plug wires connected right, did a vac line get knocked loose, did a connector get bumped and come loose? Good luck
