Hello,
I am getting ready to put my webers on my car, and I need to know if anyone could send me a picture or drawing on how they mounted the accelerator cable. I assume I need to make some kind of bracket to hold it. Thanks,

I took a piece of 1"x1/8" bar stock and bent it , then I twisted it in a vise 180 deg(after I drilled a 5/16" hole and through bolted it to the fan shroud (Big hole in front of the oil filler) wala...mine could be prettier but....

I've seen a setup similar to the first one pictured which loosened up. The mounting bolt didn't hold the bracket snugly enough, so the bracket eventually flopped over to the side. The driver had no throttle, the engine was stuck at idle. He was able to fix it, but the bracket flopped again shortly thereafter.
The second one shown won't do that. A little more thought on my friend's setup would have prevented that, as well. (E.g., a flat section that lays along the surface of the crankcase for an inch.) --DD

Oop's, forgot to mention that....The hole is drilled as to let the base of the 1" stock sit on the case....I have had no problems...oh did I mention it only took $2 and 15 min to make....:-)
The six conversion that I am in process of doing will be right as rain... Josh

Wow I like the one in the 2nd picture. SWEET
I made mine to mount on the fan housing. The bracket uses an existing hole just infront of the dizzy. the bracket is stronger in the fore and aft direction than side to side. a potential problem with pic #1 it will flex under WOT. Don't think I have any pictures of it handy. Rob Watson might have one as I made one for him too. |
