Steering lock
Lost my keys to some Mexican bandits. I've pulled all my locks for rekeying except the ignition switch. The steering lock is engaged and I'm unable to pull the switch. What can you guys recommend?

I got the switch out, but I'm dissappointed that nobody even replied.
Maybe you gentlemen can help me to remove the front trunk lock? |

That's pretty easy, but you have to open the front trunk to do it.
Aside: If your front trunk is locked or you can't get into it, remove the front bumper. Four bolts in the fender wells on the 70-74 cars; one bolt under each arm of the two "bumper shocks" on a 75-76. You'll find a hole in the front panel that you can stick a screwdriver through to actuate the trunk release. Once the trunk is open, you look up in the upper corner of the compartment for two Allen-head bolts. Those hold the handle onto the body of the car--which should tell you they're waaaay up in there! Remove those, and you can pull the handle out and down. You'll find a set-screw in the handle which was hidden when it was all bolted to the body. Remove the set-screw and you should be able to remove the lock cylinder. --DD

Thanks, I've got that far. There seems to be something else holding the lock in place. I can't get the lock seperated from the cable. I was curious if I had to remove the cable along with the lock.
I'll try a little twisting and pulling. |

IIRC, the whole handle comes out with the cable. You don't have to pull it out all the way, just far enough to access the set-screw. (It's been a while since I've done this, though, so my memory could be off.)
