hey everyone,
i just bought one of those aftermarket Porsche shift knobs, the black leather ones with the colored Porsche crest on top, well, it comes with 2 plastic bushings and a little allen wrench, but the damn thing doesnt even fit on the shift rod!! it said "for 914s" when i ordered it, has anyone put one on, and if so what am i doing wrong?! thanks Mike |

From what I've heard, you have to bore it out a tad with a drill bit to make it fit.
No different than when it's said "a V8 will fit a 914 ..."; you just have to modify the installation. |

According to this months PANO, the sleeve fits snugly over the lever, then the ball gets pushed over the sleeve/lever assembly. If you haven't already done so, check out the magazine tech article. If you are not a PCA member, then shame on you and find someone who is and borrow their issue.
