Unhappy My moms scaring me.

After having a conversation, she paused and out of no where said "Your going to die in a Porsche" I asked her where that came from and she said she has "That Feeling". I have chills now. The wierd thing is that she is right about this stuff a lot of the time.
I know, its all superstition but its really erie. Im a little scared now too.

She's right. Her little boy is going to die in a Porsche, but a grown man will come out the other side.

Tell her not to worry, at least it dosen't have a back seat to get you into trouble

Two distrurbing things my moms told me are

"Of all the things I've lost, it's my mind I miss the most"

and

"Hey, mom where you going?"
"Crazy. Want to come along?"

Did she describe what kind of death it was.............Was it a glorious death like a crash after setting the fastest lap at some track with your 914...........Or was it a stupid simple death like burning alive in some traffic jam after rotted fuel lines cause a massive fire............Just curious!

MY mom said I wasn't going to amount to much driving those "stupid furrin' cars".

After a massive number of those stupid furrin' cars (2 of them currently Porsches), 2 minivans, a daugther-in-law, 4 grandsons, and a great-granddaugter-in-law, I once asked her how her business-owner son was doing in her eyes?

"Pretty-much like your father; he's in the garage, fixin' the seats on that stupid furrin' car of his." His '68 MG-B; has had it ... oh, 'bout 25 years, I think.

Just tell her that SHAUN CASSIDY had a bad accident in a 914 and everyone didn´t belive he would survive it. Was in the early 70´s. So maybe your mum remeber the story and dreams about her youth idol.

Brains are complicatet just find out how to fix a D-Jetronic.

BTW wich car should avoid the bad joos ?

Wasn't that Leif Garrett? I remember that his passenger was paralyzed from the waist down. (I saw that same episode of "Behind the Music"!) Also, another point of 914 trivia...Los Angeles TV weatherman Dallas Raines has a 914 with a 327 Chevy conversion.

Pay careful attention to those trucks and SUVs out there, they never seem to be looking for a small car such as the 914. Also defensive driving is a must, you can be completely in the right, but as with a motorcycle the laws of physics dictate that the bigger car wins. Use good judgement, save the "Porsche" driving to known safe areas (ideally the track, but.... just keep it sane), and enjoy.

I have ridden motorcycles all my life, when I was younger my Mom would always say
"your going to be paralized" I/\'m 46 now and still have a spine, take it with a grain of salt.

So... Leif turned over a new 914? I always though he'd get it in a long-boat. Sorry...

I saw an Ice T interview on VH1 Behind the Music and he recounted a near death experience at the wheel of a 914. VH1 did a nice little reinactment in a baby blue model with lots of camera shake. I think he said after that crash (and the hospital stay) he gave up pimping and decided to go into gangster rap. Way to go Ice! We're all behind you. ;-)

I sure hope he's driving a Mercedes or Range Rover these days...

Ask your Mom if she'd rather see you in a Yugo.

Porsche Crest

That's OK--my mom's first reaction when I bought my first 914 was, "a PORSCHE??? The same car that killed James Dean???"

I only wish I could afford a Spyder. No, mom, it's a 914. It has almost the same motor that was in your dad's VW station wagon all those years ago.

I finally got her around to coping with it, if not fully understanding.

Actually in his interview he said it was new and the year he munched it would dictate that it was a 914/4.

Wow! Kinda reminds me about the subject of James, my son. Remember Dave? We live about 40 minutes from the exact site where James Dean killed himself in the Spyder. James, my son, and I drive past it all the time going from the coast to the valley. We stop, say a little prayer and drive on.
I honestly cannot think of a better way to GO, than, behind the wheel of a Porsche! Alot of my friends at the rip ole age of 49 are dying off with cancer. I honestly don't know why-but I have been to at least 3 funerals in this year alone. My prayer, is to go with fire, on the curve-pushing the red and just hearing the engine roar pushing me up to Porsche' Heaven.... Have you seen Gone In 60 Seconds?????
