Weight of wheels

Today I weighed 3 sets of wheels.
5 lug Mahle's, 4 lug Mahle's and 4 lug fuchs.
I wanted to get the as close as I could so I weighed them in stacks of 4.
The 5 lug Mahles were 39 Lbs. Thats 9 and 3/4 Lbs each.
The 4 lug Mahles were 55 Lbs. Thats 13 and 3/4 Lbs each.
The 4 lug Fuchs were 54 Lbs. Thats 13 and 1/2 Lbs each.
I was sure that there would be a much bigger difference between the 4 lug wheels. 4 ozs.
Joe

Hmmm...seems like everyone always claims the 2.0 style 4 lug fuchs are about 11 lbs each. I've never weighed any myself. Just curious

My own experiments showed:

Four-lug Fuchs = 13 lbs
Four-lug Mahle = 14 lbs
Four-lug Pedrini = 17 lbs

Dave- no 5 lug Fuchs data?
9.75 pounds? Wowzer. That is enough reason for a five lug conversion right there!

I believe that is due to the unbearable lightness of Magnesium, you also need cubic megadollars for the gas burners(5 lug Mahle) I imagine the early pedrini wheels are heavier than the later ones, judging by how they look, just a sec

yup 13.5 for the late ones, 14 for the early, but that is with a pretty crappy bathroom scale, definitely lighter though

You have to add the weight of the extra lug bolt and the double double I just ate. Burp.
