Post Fuel filter

PO moved fuel pump and filter to front of car. want to move filter back to orig location at rear. Question: at the rear of the floor pan, there are two fuel lines. Which one is the "supply" fuel line to engine? The one closer to the center of the car or the one toward the right side of the car (passenger side)? Don't want to put filter on in the wrong direction. Thanks for the help!!

Hello

The parts catalouge shows exactly the position.

There are a pressure line and a returnline. The pressur line is going to the injector passenger side and the return comes from the valvebody on the driverside.

Don´t forget the gromets in the holes under the battery.

hello

Depending on the year you have a 9 mm Fuelline from the tank to the engine and a 7 mm returnline.

However the original 914/4 Fuelfilter is NLA and rplaced by the nwer 914/2,0 unit.

Both sides 7 mm.

To adopt the new filter to the old 9 mm line you can use a Golf Diesel rubberhose.

Just curious, why do you want to move it to the back? IMHO, the front location is better.
