Post euro lenses on ebay...would love to be that seller

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=591624879&r=0&t=0

I think I am going to buy all of theses lenses that Pelican has and make a fortune. I could not help myself and emailed some of the "auction loosers" with PP's web address.

Good God Man! The auction is not over yet!

The seller may be very upset if all his customers walk and Pelican may raise their prices to meet the perceived demand!

I was kind to the seller and didn't email the "winner" God help him if he ever finds out that he paid $51.00 over what PP charges. Are ebayers really that uninformed?

They're mostly idiots. Watch ebay for an item you know about and watch people pay 50 to 100% more for a used item over what it costs new. I guess its the competition angle that suckers them in.

On the flip side, there are some real steals to be had on ebay.
A few months ago I won a super 90 case for my 356 for $25.00(three piece)
and very often I find impossible to find items for my 356 for dirt cheap.

You have to know the key search tips and the right times too bid.

And at least I know better than too pay retail or above retail prices for ebay items.

I emailed the guy (high bidder)...just to stir up a little you know what.

I have used ebay for years and it can be a terrific resource for finding cool old stuff (i.e. p-car parts), if you know what you're doing. I pity the guys who don't...but then again, I have done fairly well as a seller myself.

I have done OK as a seller on various items except my 914 parts. I sold a trunk lid that I thought for sure would bring at least $50. I've seen rusted pieces sell for almost that amount and all I got was $15 and one hell of a hassle on shipping. Why can't I get these buyers? I learned my lesson on the first Porsche item and never will bid again unless I check the catalogs and or Pelican. Maybe Wayne should do like AA and "advertise" on ebay with some popular or over stock items.

I have emailed both the seller and highest bidder. This is not the first time this guy is selling Euro lenses at this price. So he KNOWS exactly what he is doing.

I cant help but shaking my head and wonder how the hell those buyers think they are doing a good deal.

Oh well....

Ah Ebay....she's a wonderful thing. I am the seller of those lenses. For you losers that say you emailed me...way to sound like a tuff guy because no one had emailed me. campbellcj your a cool guy for emailing the high bidder. Are you a cool guy all the time or just like to sound like a tuff guy on this BB where nobody knows you.
Is it so wrong to sell things on ebay and make $51 profit. It's not my fault people don't do research to find the best price. All I can say is Cha-Ching!!!!! Oh and Pelican Parts is expensive for these Euro lenses. They are cheaper somewhere else.

This is a great way to fund my 914 project. Look around people if you get on Ebay people will over pay on everything!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody want to buy some Euro lenses....Cheap......LOL

Thumbs up

Isn't the point of eBay or any other open market that you bid and pay what the auctioned item is worth to you personally? Factor in the cost of doing your research or shopping around, shipping cost, timeliness local availability, etc... maybe it's worth it for those fellas.

I sell on eBay too, and sometimes wonder who would buy some of the things I find on there, or why people pay so much for things. But is the old saying "one person's garbage is another's treasure" or something like that?

Let's just all get along here, shall we?

I pretty much agree with bfrenz, but there is no reason to call anybody a loser nor is there a reason to be obnoxious like a middle schooler. It's not like he set the reserve at $91. bidding started out at 5 bucks...from there its all up to the bidders.
We all have resources for cheap parts, but would rather pay PP a little bit more for their loyalty to P-cars.

I haven't been doing much on ebay lately -- sold out most of my stash last year, and I don't need to buy much these days either.

So great...tell me where I can get a $399 (list) 128MB SDRAM micro-dimm for less than a hundred bucks...most places don't even carry it...this ain't regular desktop PC memory as you may know.

I can get that memory for your Vaio for $75. And right now you paying $98. And you think I'm going to tell you where. I don't think so. Maybe you should not have email my high bidder about the Euro lenses. That was childish and uncalled for. And I quote "just to stir up a little you know what" GROW UP

BFRENZ needs to apply for an Energy department job, they love overcharging the public and hiding behind free market diatribe. Sorry you really pissed me off, the people on this BB as far as I can tell would take a loss if it meant helping someone else. I hope the extra money helps you when you find yourself on the wheel of karma.

Neal,

WHOA there cowboy. It's not my fault people shot the bid up that high. I started the bidding at $5.00. I donn't overcharge anyone. They do that to themselves. There have been a couple of times were I have taken a loss on these. So theres no reason to get piss off at me. I didn't overcharge anyone. GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!!!!!!

What is everybodies problem here. bfrenz did nothing wrong. Isn't this what Ebay is all about to get top dollar for an item. You don't list things on Ebay to get the lowest possible price. It's not like it was a fixed price for these.
Oh well I gave made 2 cents.

Guys, please chill out.

In my own personal opinion (i.e., not sanctioned by nor speaking for Pelican), "bfrenz" did nothing wrong. Don't bash him for simply letting people run up the bidding on their own...

bf, it may very well have been immature of Chris to muck around with your auction, but your responses here have not exactly covered you in glory either.

How about we all grow up a bit and quit this bickering?
