Voltage to cold start injector
 

On the continuing saga of finding, why my 1.7, 1973 fires off, then dies, (then no amount of cranking will get it to start) I am now at the point of testing voltage to the connector to the cold start valve. Upon pulling it off, telling my wife to try starting the car and then measuring the voltage. It was 10.43 volts. I suspect, this is because of the draw to the starter. Or?? I will also pull off this valve and clean it. Any simple way after cleaning it with carb cleaner to bench test it?
I pressure tested my fuel pump and am getting 30 lbs. I also have spark while cranking. I will check trigger contacts next, but suspect this is a cold start issue OR some sensor telling the fuel system to shut down after it first fires off.

Unplug the CSV. It shouldn't open up until the engine is very cold (various numbers have been thrown around, most range from 40F down to 32F) so it shouldn't be doing anything most of the time anyway.

Check all of your wires and hoses. Are they plugged in? To the right places? Any of them stiff or cracked? Take care of those first...

If your valve is leaking it's not electrically related. Pull off the gas supply hose that feeds it and plug it. see if that makes a difference.

When it doesn't start, pull a spark plug out to see if it's wet. Or look for black smoke out the exhaust when it does fire.
