help with TechnoSport wheels please...
Hey guys, thought I would drop a line on the 911 Forum and hopefully you guys can help me out - strange question I am sure but any help is appreciated...
I rather like the looks of the SportTechno wheels on the late Boxsters and Turbos, etc. ![]() I am thinking of putting these on my 914 beast for road racing (good option for the $$ if the sizes are right) but am trying to determine if you can get that wheel in both an 18x10 size off the Boxsters and an 18x11" of the TTs?? I have seen sets in 18x8 and 18x10 for the Boxsters on evilbay, but ran across a link to a couple 18x11s apparently off a TT. Perfect for me would be 18x10 front and 18x11 rears. Am I right that those two rear sizes exist for me to mix and match to my car?

wow - the polished looks nice! Thanks for the response... now just to determine if I can really wedge a 10" front in the car and still turn

how big of flares are you going?
i'm running turbo spec front flares on my 911 and the 8.5's (w/e they are..) are a SQUEEZE!!!! had to roll all the lips to avoid scrapping. actually...they arn'y polished....i believe they were chrome from the factory.... they do bling though, and fit well with the theme of the car with chrome trim.

I have a tube chassis with just enough of the original 914 to still look like one. It has a fiberglass front end from Sheridan with huge flares - fitting the 10s wouldn't be a problem per se, just gotta make sure I could still turn the tires enough to make bends at the track. No street driving or U-turns, but the chassis guy put my sway bar to the front, so the tires may hit it. However, if I move the sway bar back to where it would roughly be stock, I would have no issue at all.
I have 15x8 fronts right now with similar overall tire diam to the short-wall 18s I would run, so I may just be stuck with 8" fronts otherwise as I have no issues getting around a track now. Relocating the sway bar is on my priority list to run bigger tires tho'. It was easier to put it where it is now and with the 8s no problems, but the car will probably want to plow now with the new setup (car is basically designed to get rid of the crazy oversteer I had before). ![]() I was plowing at the track on my shakedown run right before a lower arm I bought from Kanna Motorsports snapped in two but I want to keep the front stiff, so bigger tires would be in order.edit - I just realized I accidentally put this in the engine forum, not the general 911 forum
