Tachometer

Just finished re-wiring my 1974 1.8 914 and installing the J. West blade fuse block. Runs good but, having problems with the tach.: 1) the lead from the condenser is connected to the negative (No.1) terminal. 2) A hot lead is connected to the positive (No.15) terminal. The tach. does not register and RPM. The back of the Tach there is a terminal block. With 3 connectors on it. 1- is marked "12", 1- is marked with what looks like a "1" and one is marked with, what looks like a "--".

Do any of these terminals go to ground??

On the coil, the wire from the points (by way of the condensor) goes to the (-) terminal. The power wire goes to the (+) terminal. The tach signal wire goes to the (-) terminal, so the tach can get its signal from the points.

On the tach, the signal wire goes to (1). Power should go to (15), and the other one (31) should be grounded. The 12 is, I think the "15", and the "--" is likely a ground symbol.
