windshield clips
Will finally be installing the chrome trim around the windshield since my car never had it. PO removed it. Question.. everything I have read tells you to replace the 16(?) clips around the windshield. Mine seem to be tight, no wiggle, but I am missing 2 of them. What holds these in place and how do you take them off and install new ones? I dont have any new ones to look at to compare. DO they really need to be replaced? Appreciate all replies. thanks

If you look very closely, there is actually a plastic pin that runs through the center of the clip. When you have a new clip, the pin is out. You put the clip in the hole and then push in the pin, which spreads open some "fingers" on the backside of the hole. To get them out, you push the pin clear through and pull out the clip. Once out, they are no good for the pin has fallen inside your body. I needed 4 or 5 once and OTTO's sold me the quantity I needed. Goodluck, Pete
