Rear Window Seal ?
 

My 914 is at the body shop right now getting a beauty make-over with new paint and some minor bodywork. I thought it would be a great time to fix all the seals while the car is being prepared to be painted. My rear glass is sealed on the inside with just black-elctrical tape. Is there supposed to be a rubber-seal that goes on the bottom edge of the rear-glass? How do I instruct the body shop to re-install the rear window with the proper seals?

Do a search of the BB archives on this topic. There have been several previous discussions about it. The short version is that the rear window is held in place and sealed with a bead of black sealing caulk (I am sure there is a name for it) that comes in a roll. The body shop will know what you are talking about. The black "electrical" tape over the inside edge of the window basically creates a finished look.
