Post Throttle cable fabrication

My car came with the stock throttle cable and Weber IDF's and a center pivot linkage.
And I'm now setting up a crossbar ( the Tayco) and moving the cable stop to the front
of the engine case to pull on the linkage at the rear. The stock cable housing is too long, doesn't want to cut cleanly, and doesn't allow enough length of inner wire to work with this setup and would require too much bending to allow for smooth action, so I need to replace the housing. Right now, I'm using Teflon-lined bicycle cable, but I really think that this is too light for this application ( the stock one lasted 100K) and wondered of anyone out there
has tried motorcycle brake cable housing or anything like that. I have to spring it from the rear of the engine compartment, and I also wondered if anyone has any ideas that look and/or work slicker than the Home Depot door-spring method.

I ended up measuring how much force it took to pull just the cable (the carbs closed nicely with out the cable hooked up), and went down and found a spring of that strength, and of the right length. This still gives me a nice feeling petal, and carbs that close all the way when I take my foot off.

Hello

Maybe the 1,8 Carb version parts will work for you.
