how about this one?

I just picked this one up today. =o) no rust! It's a 76 w/a 2.0.

It is in primer, and I'm open to suggestions for paint colors!

Also, I have a few questions on parts swapping. (bumpers off of my 73, pass side mirror, ignition tumbler, first gear crunch, tranny rebuild, shift linkage bushings) But I'm going to re-read all of the tech articles that are here on Pelican first.

In the past two days I have done the following: (with parts off of the 73)

Installed window visors
changed the steering wheel column, turn signal and wiper switches, ignition switch, and door handles so all of the keys would match. (thanks Pelican People that wrote the 'how-to' on that one, it helped a bunch)
Installed my circle steering wheel hub. (will post picture!)
swapped roofs w/the 73. (the 76 roof had cracked paint on it)
crammed a cd player into the dash (not wired in yet; no speakers.)
pulled the winshield washer fluid reservoir so I can install an actual 12v pump (is there a write up on this?)

Buy new shifter bushings, you can get decent money for the side shifter tranny if you need cash. There is a write up here about mounting the passenger side mirror, it will take you 15 minutes, seriously. The bolts are already tacked to inside of the door.

Tobra, thank you for the input!

Today I adjusted the clutch, no more 'crunch', but the shifting is still sloppy. I also replaced the fuel lines under the tank, but I still have the aweful aroma of gasoline coming into the cabin.

question of the day:

What do I check next to get rid of the fumes?

The mirrors I have don't seem to use the stock mounting locations. I will be cleaning them up and shooting them w/primer and posting them within the next few days as 'for sale'. I have all of the mounting brackets, etc.

As for the side shifter tranny, I am going to use the one out of the 73 to set up the drive train for the six. If I have it all together before bolting it in, it will be less down time for my daily driver. (thank you again for the suggestion, I appreciate the input)
