Post ??De-chrome??

Is there a way to de-chrome the trim on a 914? Door handles, side window trim..etc

There is a chemical way, which is probably the way to go for when it comes to door handle. Most of the places that offer the service of restoring the chrome on car parts typically offer also this service. I have read somewhere that certain materials tend to be weakend in the process of chroming. Might be an issue since the door handles are not very reliable in the first place.
An other option would be sanding the parts...
...but a painful way!!!
