914 A Chick Magnet?

I don't have any quant research but is it possible that the 914 is a chick magnet?

My 87 Carrera got an occasional wave from middle aged Carrera drivers. My 72 911 got waves from men over 50.

But whoa, my new 914 has pretty women hanging out windows waving and giving thumbs up. Could that be why Bruce Anderson has shown values to be going up so much?

Bill

I've owned my 914 for just over 30 years.

I'm always getting nice looking younger girls asking about my car. I'd say it's my own dashing looks but it's more likely my little rust bucket.

My wife says they're pointing and laughing, not waving and smiling. Hmmmm

My wife hates my 914's. Even the Bumble Bee she considers an eye-sore. She's all about 911 looks, and the wider the flares the better. I asked her if it would help if I put GT flares on one of the 914's. She said 'nope'.

My 914-6 with GT flares got more attention than I would have expected from opposite sex. I had women walk up to car and ask me what it was more often than other cars. So yes 914 can be a chick magnet.

Have to agree my '67 912 gets an older male wave, while the '73 914 gets the girlies waving. I think its the way you have to pop the front hood and gas up. LOL

Women love the Olympic Blue color! Never fails to get a response. How do you think I talked my wife into it?

I live near the Mosport race track and the local Sunoco see quite a few high buck Porsche's roll through its pumps. They are one of the few full serve gas store and of course I fill my own, so this pretty 16-19yr/old gas attendant was chatting me up while walking around my car asking (good) questions about my car.

At the end she says, "that's a beautiful car, all the other Porsche's I see all day are so frigging ugly."
BTW There was a C2 over in the next lane (other attendant) and she never even looked.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

you know, when you hold up two big ass magnets and they "push away" from each other?? That's what the "chicks" do when I'm in the area........regardless, if i'm in the 914 or not, what's up with that?

Could it be, that I'm just Fugly?

I got married cause of my 914!

Single at 49 ..on a second date with a woman who is showing some promise.
a 914 is parks next to my ghia..
She says it's certainly "different" ..

I tell my date that I have always wanted a 914 but they are near impossible to find in Memphis

A week later she calls to say a friend of a friend has this "ugly neon green" car in his garage and she thinks it's a 914.

It is ..I say I'd love to buy it but it needs work and I don't have a garage.
She says "You should take every opportunity to get what you want .." She offers me the use of her garage..
I realise this woman actually was supportive of my somewhat irrational desire to fix up old aircooled cars!
I buy the car and 6 months later ask her to marry me.
10 years later we are still happily married ..the original 914 became a donor car for my current 914..
My wife ..the car .. both keepers!

I told my wife the car was a chick magnet. Her reply was "That doesn't matter..you spend so much time putzing with that car you don't have time for an affair!"

Considering the 914 was penned by a refrigerator designer, is it any wonder that women salivate when they see one?

Now I just need a couple of good door magnets to draw them closer...
