Piston Problems
Hi,
I was pulling apart a 2.0 motor that is primarily used for track events. It has about 4 years of about 10 events a year on it. It is down for rebuild because it was starting to blow oil through the rings. Take a look at the picture. The piston pins seem to have a thrust load on the clips that hold them in. This one piston is the worst, but they all show signs of this. What could cause this to happen. Thanks Ed http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1199137631.jpg |

Bent rod...
Too much rod side clearance... Pin length too short allowing the pin to thrust... Cylinder bored off center, forcing the piston sideways in the bore.... That piston is toast... |
