I've done it all the wrong ways so I can tell you that yes it will work with the right hanger.
However not sure about any valence clearance. |

Thank you, thats all I needed.
Everything is going from my 73 to my 72. If I need more pieces I'll grab them. |

ok,
No laughing. Dumb question of the week,...ok year. I have a new 2 liter that is now in the car (as of lastnight) The 1.7 that came out has SS exchangers and a manta muffler system. Bring on a budget, can the exchangers and muffler system from the 1.7 fit the 2 liter? Thanks in advance for the help. Steve |

Yeses all around. But you do have to keep the exchangers, hangers, and mufflers grouped all 1.7L or all 2.0L. Where you get into trouble is using a 2.0L hanger on a 1.7L exhaust and so on.

Steve, my 2.0 liter has 1.7 stainless steel heat exchangers. The 1.7 SS exchangers have the same inside diameter as the 2.0 ss exchangers, so no performance difference. Used 1.7 SS exchangers seemed to be more readily available and priced accordingly when I put my 2.0 liter engine in. Just be sure the rest of the exhaust system especially the hangers are 1.7 components.
