Semi-914 related ques.: Anyone have or used a combo mill-lathe ?
 

In order to help make brackets and such for my turbo install, I have been looking at the
combo mill-lathe setups such as Grizzly or Shop-task, anyone have or have used such a product ? Thanks Mike Mueller

I use a "Smithy", just such a combination. It's been quite good for automotive-level work, and adequate (if carefully set up) for the more demanding work of gunsmithing. Be real careful in selecting a machine that can handle the size of work you want to do. By time you count in vices and other work-holders, your workable size can get small pretty fast.
