Hello Guys, newbie here from the UK.
![]() I have a VW beetle fitted with a 914 1.7 fuel injection engine, there is a hose running from the air intake elbow to the oil filler there is some sort of valve in there can any one tell what this does and whats it for. Cheers Mike Last edited by maacracing; 10-08-2008 at 09:22 PM.. |

It's the PCV valve, Positive Crankcase Vent valve. The stock ones are hard to find now.

Info on the PCV:
http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/PCV.htm I have also heard of others putting a plug with a hole inside the hose from the oil filler to the intake; the hole (1mm?) served as a restriction all the time, instead of being open at times and closed at times like the stock valve. --DD
