Dino 20w-50 in summer, maybe 10-40 in winter (but I hardly use mine in the winter) in mine over the years. If they leak enough, to me not worth the premium of synthetic. Some will bring up the lack of "zinc" in new oils, of which apparently brad penn (and maybe some others?) address.

Up here at 7000 feet in the mountains of Northeastern Arizona I run 20-50 in the summer and a 10-40 in Winter when I do drive my 914.
