Away she goes for new paint.........
We trailered the 914 to the shop on Friday for a complete bare metal soda blast and paint and body. Here's a few pictures as she's leaving.
The shop called today with some very good news.....After soda blasting the car they stated there was no rust to be found, none. When I bought the car the seller did state it was rust free, and thank goodness he was an honest seller. Everything is going back original, so when the new Ravenna Green goes on with a clear coat this thing will probably glow in the dark. This is my first 914 and I'm looking forward to Spring already. I will throw up some pictures as we progress, I didn't get a chance to take photos today, but will grab some this week. By the way, it's a 1974 1.8 ![]()

Sounds like it's coming along very nicely! The body looks pretty straight. Sounds like it will be pretty sharp when you're all done! I look forward to following your progress on it!

I see your engine is still in the car. The guy who does blasting for me said that no matter how hard they try to keep the media out of the engine, some will get in. If it were me I would plug every orafice first. That stuff gets into everything!
Good luck. Looks like a nice car. Mike |
