Question Relays and heaters

I have a 74 914 2.0 and the wipers and cig lighter both are not working. I understand they are connected to one round relay on the fuse block. There are 3 on the block..one to the left of the square relay and two to the right of it. Which one controls the wipers?

Also..anybody got a picture of the heater blower in the boiler room? For the life of me I cannot figure out how to attach it. I cant find pictures in any of the books I have. I yanked out the old blower months ago and got a newer 1975 model that has the second outlet for the passenger side...I just now got around to installing it and of course I cant figure it out.

The relay is the one whose relay socket has Red, Red/White, Black/Red, and Brown wires going to it.

There should be a pedastal on the left-hand side of the engine bay, sticking up from the engine shelf near the front. The pedastal should have a curved top on it. A rubber pad sits on that pedestal, and the fan sits on top of that rubber pad. A large hose clamp holds the circular fan body to the pedestal.

Dave,

After searching around the site I found out the replacement blower I got is a dual outlet version from the early years. I guess this mounts somewhere behind the cooling fan somewhere? If so I guess I can drill some holes and mount it back there somewhere.

The heater blower has a bracket the bolts to the top two screws in the front fan housing behind the driver. The fan motor housing points down and back toward the rear. There is anothe bracket that straps to the back of it and attaches strait down to one of the engine tin screws beside the thermostat wire. Good luck.

Question

A little off the subject. I have a '73 with the single outlet blower. I have seen those two outlet blowers advertised. Is that worthwhile getting?

I do not know if they are or not. They are the same blower used on the vw bus and blow int both heat exchangers simultaniously. Mine keeps my 914 relitively warm. My 912E has the same blower, just mounted differently. Good luck!
