What does your 914 weigh?

This is a little survey of what your 914 weighs. How about the autocrossers and road race guys posting so the street guys can compare.

My car is a '73,4 cyl, f-glass rear hood, bumpers, striped out interior, no door glass, no headlights, no wipers/motors. Not street legal at all. It was on the scales at the PCA club race in March and was 1,741 pounds. I'm going to cut off the windshield and remove the roof and put on f-glass fenders. I hope to get it down to 1,500.

Anyone else?

Mine was 2142 lbs last time it was weighed. It may be a tiny bit less now. Basically stock minus the firewall backpad & sound deadening, the engine sound pad, and most of the interior floor 'tar'.

I'm guessing mine weighs about 1400l.b.s.

Of course right now the engine, tranny and interior are gutted.

Over all I would guess when I'm done I'll be sitting around 2300. And yes I probably will be auto crossing it (street legal circut)

My race 914 weighs 2278 with me inside with full driving gear and a full tank of gas. Balance is within 10 pounds of 50/50 front to rear weight distribution.

Hi URY914. Which club race did you run in March. I think Arizona and Texas were the march events? Which class are you in, (obviously GT). Locally, we have a great 4 cylinder running GT5 and also GT6. Coool..

I'm running in "I" which requires 2139 stock weight. Our's weighs anywhere from 2141 to 2161 depending upon the scales, day, moon, etc.. This weigth is usually with 1/2 tank of gas, no driver, and 40lbs of ballast mounted. Our car corner balanced within 4 lbs last summer (last time it was on the scales).

Well it was actually Febuary at Sebring now that I think about it. I run in GT6S. I won my class-set the fastest lap-everything. Oh yea, I was the only one in my class. It was the same weekend as a HSR race and all the 356 races go to there instead of the Club race. I need to really spead some time corner balancing the car to get it dialed in right.

My 6 weighs 985 kg in road trim with tank half full. There's not much sound deadening material in it but has back pad and underbody proofing

In my day ( a long time ago before carbon fibre), it was called "cheating", but we acid dipped the bumpers, doors, front & rear trunk lids. Had to rope off the car at the track so no one would lean on it. An errant fly would dent the metal upon landing (Heh Heh!).

When I had the 3.0 SC motor in my '85 it weighed 2261.

Now with the 3.2 and a cage, seats, harness etc. and a couple of items removed, 2322.

Of course I could shed aprox 150 Lbs by back dating to earlier bumpers.
