Fuel Injection
I have a 72, 1.7 with a persistant problem. I have had a miss, typically after warm up. It now seems my #1 and #3 injectors are not working. The leads are not getting power. If I switch the #2 and #4 leads with the #1 and #3 injectors they spray strong. The MPS and the throttle position sensor are working. I have tracked the grounds and all injectors have good ground. the car ran strong prior to the #1 and #3 injectors quitting. I have new points, wires, plugs, distributor cap, condensor and coil. Is there anything common to the #1 and #3 injectors. I have thought about the trigger points, but that wouldn't hold true unless somehow the FI leads got switched on one side of the engine, prior to me buying it. Any ideas?

Check which wires are plugged into the injectors. There might be numbers printed on them near the injectors; there definitely should be near the ECU. Compare those numbers to the ones on the wiring diagram, that will tell you if the leads have been switched.
You can also check the trigger points on the assumption that the leads were switched. See if the outer contacts get alternately shorted to the center contact when the distributor rotor rotates; if not then you have found a problem. --DD

I did determine the fi leads were switched on one side. I have taken the trigger points out and they look very worn, but what do I know. I have enclosed some pics of them, perhaps someone can tell by the pictures. They check out good with an ohm meter, but they just look worn.
