Looking for a translucent ginter style windscreen. Anyone know of a good source?

They are hard to come by.

I haven't seen one for sale in quite some time and none of the usual aftermarket panel suppliers seems to offer them anymore ...

HSR and SVRA....and that was a good picture of EFR in his younger days driving for Ginther, about 1972.

John:

I have run with them since 1999. I am just concerning making a change in the car. I have a lot of fun now...just want to try going topless!

going topless definitely helps with weight reduction and also wind resistance with less frontal area...this is good for little more speed on long straights

I only did one Ginther style...I didn't like the looks of the cage sticking out bare...I never did modify the regular full cage to be lower in front like the SCCA regs said you can...so my cage just stood up in the air...the Ginther one looks so much cleaner

I am looking for less wind resistance. I am at minimum weight now and will have to ballast but I can move it low to improve the cg. I will modify cage if I do it.

it will definitely reduce the wind resistance and get CG lower

I saw one 914 that had the stock "roll bar" gutted and only had the skin to reduce weight and cg...still had the cage hoop of course....but the inside of the stock "roll bar" is pretty heavy duty metal

Rich Bontempi over at High Performance House (Rich Bontempi's High Performance House - Redwood City, California) may have one, or may know where to get one.

Be sitting down when you find out the price. They were very spendy parts ten years ago, and I don't imagine they've gotten any cheaper since then.
