Brad is a guy, not a kit............haha, just a humble opinion. He is very well known throughout the industry.

Never heard anything but highest praise about the guy OR the kit....:)

There only two bad things I have ever heard about the kit.

1. Installing it may change the class your car runs in, read the rule book.

2. If installed wrong (which isn't a problem because Brad, I've heard will be glad to talk you through it on the phone) it can make a bad situation worse. This is of coarse not Brad's fault.

On the plus....well everything. Never heard of a bad dealling with the guy, price, shipping, attitude, all good. It really re-iforces a bad frame, and people even use it on cars with good frames but high horsepower engine conversions.

If I understand what kit you are referring to, you should be able to see a picture of a similar deal (installed) if you follow the link on my signature. Gotta update those pics...

that was not too specific of a request was it?... the kit i am talking about reinforces the suspension mounts for the rear. i wanted to know what was covered by them and any sugestions for welding or whatever. thanks for the good posts so far.

It is a factory kit made when racers complained about the chassis flexing so much durring a race they couldn't shift. It fits inside the rear wheel well and is just spot welded over the frame. Not really a rust reapair piece as that part of the car isn't usally a problem.

Again it is more for racing than the street.

If that's the GT stiffening kit, I made those parts myself tracing them off another set. Free 11ga steel off cuts from a local fab shot, about two hours of my own work.

I installed both longitudinal braces from Brad and they helped my car's sagging problem greatly. I bought mine directly from Brad. He is a good guy to deal with and he will talk to you over the phone on any problems that you may come across. You do have to cut away all rusted areas and patch them separately. Soak your suspension bolts beforehand to help on the removal. The only thing I changed was I slotted the holes about 3" so there was more area to weld. I think this helped greatly on strength and it was an easy modification.

Hey guys, been gone a long time (busted ankle and a patio project) anyhow, hoping to get back at the 914 here after the holidays.

anyhow, I have installed one of Brad's kits on my car too, you can see close up pics on the web site. I have nothing but good things to say about it and Brad. He was really great to work with, very helpful, and the kit is pretty straight forward to install, I haven't had a chance to drive on it yet, but I can already tell how much stiffer the chassis is when moving it around on the jack stands.

It was not difficult to install, the Pelican article is pretty good for instructions.
