PCV hose on 75 2.0
O.K. I think we are all familar, and greatful, for the Dave Darling vac/fuel hose diagram, but for this it dosen't help.
Looking at my 75 2.0L there is a rather larger diameter hose coming out of the PCV vavle. It's size dosen't match up with any port on the intake. Then I saw a scaned pic on the "Whats new" section http://206.132.69.50/swapmeet_pics/sager_914_meet/disc2/MVC-005S.JPG (that's a long one, I hope that magic URL stuff works) with the same hose but I can't see where it goes. This may sound like a silly question, but I can't figure out where to tap it in. I know the 1.7 and 2.0 with a vent tube in the heads and a flashback vavle have the PCV going into the intake after the throttle body. However, since I have no vents or flashback where should it go? On our 1974, the PCV valve goes to a molded plastic fitting that attaches to the front side of the intake plenum (no clamps either). There are two inlets on the fitting, one big for the PCV hose and one small. Ours was cracked and I tried the Porsche parts guys and it seems to not be shown anywhere? I cleaned it and repaired it with epoxy, but one could be made with fittings.

Thanks, I guess the elbow/adaptor was removed on mine by the PO who also took out the air pump, decel vavle (if 75's had them this might be what the elbow also went to), EGR system and cat. I guess I'll rig something up in the shop. I just wanted to make sure it went after the throttle body even if there are no vents in the heads.

Pete Klager's 75 1.8 diagram (which seems to have been lost in the latest attack on the 914 Fan Page) shows his line from the oil filler going to a hard metal "Y" line. The other two connections on the "Y" go to the big hose before the throttle body (but after the air flow meter) and to the EGR valve.
On a late D-jet car, the hose most likely goes to the manifold, just as on my 74 (and in my diagram). Good luck! --DD |
