I could not believe it! I bought a authentic 73 914 limousine from a guy who bought it over from Italy back in the 80's. He said it was the only one Porsche made. I paid $43,000 for it and boy it was worth every dime. I am excited and plan to Auto X next season. I hope the length of it will give me an advantage on the track. It has a 2.0 liter engine. Fast. Does anyone know about this car? I would like to read more up on it. Thanks Dave for the great advise!

I have a clean title and a official certificate of authenticity from the Porsche factory. I think I got a great price on the car. I am very excited and thinking about just leaving it stock as a 2.0. Its VERY fast with the 2.0 engine.

Whats the matter
Hey guys... I don't appreciate the remarks about drugs or drinking. I am just happy about my purchase. If you check any Porsche reference you WILL find that a 1973 Porsche 914 2.0 liter Limo was built and released from the Porsche factory.

Ok, so where did you pick it up? Does it have back seats. How bout the top does it come off as well? Dude you gotta admit, coming here and saying you bought a limo 914 without pics is........kinda hard to believe. You want to AutoX the thing? I am trying to be serious here but I just feel like I'm being pulled into the ole "Pull my finger gag" Something doesn't smell right.

A Google search turned up ZERO on 914 Limo or 914 stretch.. or any other combo I could come up with.

Like I said. I have heard many rumors about this car myself and actually had a cousin who got me in touch with the 2nd owner. The top comes off in a bi-fold type manner. It has a hinge in the middle. The engine/trans itself is positioned about 1 foot more forward than the normal engine position. The car is not a weld together.. believe me. I just got the car shipped and have not had a chance to post any pictures. The car has been auto xed before and has far better handling because of it's size. There are seats in the back and space for the spare and the air conditioner unit which like the others weighs a ton. I may leave it in the car for better handeling on the track. Better weight distribution.
See you at the next Auto X! Regards, Gary 73 914 2.0 73 914 2.0 Limo |

How much to rent the thing for a night out on the town? Driver included. I'm only intersted if you wear the suit white gloves and the black cap.

I guess your are trying to make us laugh - maybe you could do a photoshop of a stretched 914 to make it a little more believable. |

Hey I have a 914 Limo!
It's just that the passengers in the back get VERY hot after a few minutes.

On second thought, I guess you wouldn't need 'em at all! Straight pipes would do all the heatin' work.

First off, let me say that I've never seen any reference to a 914 stretch limo being built by the factory. I have not read all the Porsche reference books, though.
OK, now--if you are indeed serious, PUHLEEEEEZE post some pictures!! I'd really really love to see it if it's real! I would seriously think twice or three times about autoXing it--if it is indeed a unique part of Porsche history, it would be a real shame to wrap it around a light pole... Plus, (and here's what makes me really think you're pulling our collective leg) extra weight does not help at an autoX. Just ask any (original) Mini driver. Where the weight is located is, in general, not as important as whether or not extra weight is there! I mean, a lot of the 911s actually do turn good times, and look at how badly-distributed their weight is!! ![]() BTW, if you are kidding us, a reeeeeeally good photoshop job will be needed on the pictures! ![]() --DD

Some people are fooled way to easy.
Hey I have a 914 Boat. It's really cool... Oh I can't post pictures, I um, er... don't know how to post them to the internet, yeah, or my digital camera is broken, right, just a sec, My religion forbids me to photograph cars, Yeah, That's it! But it's so cool, I paid $68,000 for it and got a great price with Cash, and I just know you all are jelouse...right? Right? "On the internet no one knows anything for sure." Maybe we should cut this guy some slack. Check this out:
"During his visit at the Karmann factory in October, 1972, Volkswagen General Manager Karl Lotz was presented with the 75,000th 914 to be produced completely by the workers there. The vehicle was unique in that it was a specially-built executive coach version of the popular sports car. Purportedly, Lotz only rode in the vehicle once while being transported to the train station at the end of his visit. Sadly, there is no record of what became of this matchless piece in Karmann history." |

That's cool, but it is not in EVERY Porsche publication as he stated - this is obviously a pretty obscure deal.
Again - let's see some pics - if he has all this evidence then at least he can reproduce the book info for us before getting the car picks. |
