Front and Rear bumper guards -- interchangable?

Can somebody tell me if the rear bumper guards and front bumper guards are interchangable, front to back? If not, can somebody tell me what the differences are between them?

I'm searching for a front driver's side bumper guard for my 73 2.0L. Having a tough time finding them. Seems to be more of the rear bumper guards available than the front ones.

Thanks.

Both Pelican and Performance Products/Automotion have different part numbers listed for front vs. rear.

I remember seeing a picture somewhere of rear guards on the front. It required modification as I recall.

Others here would know for sure, but the '73 did not have original bumper guards, did it? Are you talking about the bumperettes, or the bumper top strip?

I retrofitted my '74 with '73 chrome bumpers, and did away with the bumperettes, (or little titties, no offense intended)

I think the car looks better without.

From 70-72, there were no "bumper tits". 73s had them on the front (only). 74s had them front and rear. Some of the 75-76 cars had them (F&R) on the Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers, some apparently did not. The 75-76 ones were much smaller than the 73-74 ones.

The rear 74 bumperettes are shorter than the 73-74 front bumperettes and were a one year only item. I think their angle interface with the bumper is also at a different angle front to rear. Don't know if the bolt pattern is identical or different.

Do you feel safer with them?

The bumperettes on the front and back and left to right each have a discrete Porsche Part Number. The bolt pattern however, is the same for all of them. I have seen several teeners with improper placement of the the bumperettes, even well restored cars with cockeyed angled bumperettes.

So I guess that means I'm looking specifically for a front driver's side bumperette then.... anybody have one that's in good shape?
