Track Tires and rims????
I ran My 1st DE this past weekend on 195/50 15 Kumho ECSTA 712. They did not stick as well as expected. I have decided to get the kuhmo Victorracer V700 Competition tire. Smallest size is 205/50 15.
My questions to anyone running this size is: Do you run them on stock 15X5.5 Rims or is there 6 inch wide rims that will work? I do not have the funds or desire to switch to 5 lugs yet so I will be running the origional four lug pattern. Thanks for your help.

Duane,
I'm running Kumho Ecsta 712's, 205/55x16 on Fuchs 6x16 rims. Rears just tuck under the fender, ('76, no mods), and I get a little rub on the fronts at full lock, but the car has been lowered a lot. Don't know if the 205's will fit on 5.5's, but the guys at TireRack will know for sure. If you want more stick at the track, and don't want to go the flares / fats route, you might try a different brand of tire. Kumho's are a great value, ie price vs life vs stick, but you sacrifice stick for tire life. Haven't tried them yet, (gotta burn off the Kumho's first), but my racin' buddies like the Michelin Pilot Sport; roughly same tread pattern, better stick. Hoosiers are quite sticky, but the heat cycle thing is a pain in the a**, and they lose their stick long before they lose their rubber. Good luck!

They should fit on 5.5" rims. They may or may not fun under stock fenders when on those rims--it depends on the exact car you have, plus the offset of the wheels. (Aftermarket wheels almost never allow 205s.)
There are 6x15 wheels available in 4x130 pattern. Look for "Panasport", "Revolution", and others. http://www.ttrsracing.com carries some. --DD

I've got Kumho Ecsta 712's, 205/50/15's on 4 bolt 5.5x15 Fuchs on my lowered, stock bodied '74. Plenty of clearance in the rear. The front will slightly rub at full lock if I hit a bump, like when turning into a driveway. The Tire Rack info listed 5.5" as the minimum wheel width for this tire, a six inch or wider wheel with the correct offset would be better. The combination of a narrow wheel, wide tire and stiff sidewall made these a major PIA to get mounted.

The Kumho Victoracer V700 205/15R15 will fit *many* but not all stock narrow body teeners on factory wheels. It is probably the best option you've got for track tires without going to wider wheels. They do not perform like Hoosiers but are significantly cheaper (115 vs 165) and also are street-usable.
