Curious wheel paint....
I have noticed on some of the 914-6 race cars the wheels have one spoke painted either yellow or red. Why do they do this? I did notice that the air valve was on that particular spoke, could it have been for quick visual when coming into the pits to check air pressure.....

I agree. We usually just use a white or yellow marker on the rim.
One thing we learned the hard way, don't mark the valve on the tire! Because freshly mounted tires actually rotate on the rim when you are taking off and your mark ends up somewhere other than where the valve is. Always mark it on the actual rim ...
