Passenger Side Sensors...
 

I'm looking for an intake manifold sensor, cylindrical with 4 prongs, and I've been told it's near the battery....?

Also, I'm on the hunt for a sensor that is located near the passenger side cylinder head...?

I haven't been able to locate either, I'm thinking on in actually under the car--just a guess. Both of these sensors contribute to the ECM and the timing of the engine--and must be connected for the engine to start.

I'm thinking that when I fooling around with the fuel lines on the passenger side (when they popped off) I bumped one of these sensors off.... Any have a picture, or really awesome description of where they are?

Assuming you have a D-Jet (1.7 or 2.0L) car, I think you mean the MPS (manifold pressure sensor) and TS2 (cylinder head temp sensor). Both are topside, in the engine bay.

The MPS mounts to the right side engine bay wall and is $$$.

The TS2 is at the end of the only wire diving under the tin at cyl #3 (right rear on a 914). Inexpensive.

Both are essential for the car to run, but get the right one for your car.

And it is ECU (engine control unit) BTW.

aha, I knew it was ECU! The 914 guy at the parts shop kept saying ECM, wasn't sure if that was right.

I talked to the local repair guy, turns out he owns a 914 too, so I feel much more comfortable having it towed to his place for a check-up... I figure the car ran after I got the fuel lines back up, so one of the sensors couldn't have fallen off while I fooling around--they would have had to fallen off after the fact, which to me seems unlikely.

$32 for the check-up, and Boot-Camp on the 9th of May in Florida, I can't miss that plane, might as well make sure I can get home now.
