Wanted to make sure the camera wuz still workin'.

Took a couple pics of the sidewall indicators on my Kuhmos.

So the idea, as I understand it, is to have the scuff marks even all around and just touching the tip of the arrow.

I'm workin' on it.

This little visual isn't bullet proof, tho.

As ambeint temperature, different courses.......anything that can effect tire heat comes into play the "chalk test" becomes more viable. You want to know where you are on a given day.

When I installed these tires, I started at 34/32 (R/F) which was(knowingly) too high. Ran them that way for a couple events and dropped to 32/30. I'll drop to 32/28, make a pass or 2 then chalk
em (at the arrows) and take a look/see. This will probably be the only suspension tuning I'll do this year.

Looking at the wear pattern on the tire face leads me to the conclusion that I need to buy a 4 pack of negative camber........next winter. Prolly start the sidewall deal all over again.

As a side note:
The suspension on these cars was never designed to cope with the kind of grip available these days. I jack up the car and inspect the suspension mounting points after each event. The rear suspension consoles are the weakest link, me thinks. I sealed welded the whole area, ground my sloppy welds smooth and painted the area a light color. This helps, but I still worry about it.
The swing arm through bolts get a close look as I have found the nuts come loose occasionly. I'm not convinced this is a total cure and it prolly just a matter of time till sumthn' breaks.......that'll bring on "plan B".....whatever that is.:confused:
