Looks great!!! Did you add the flares yourself? Are they fiberglass or steel? Love to see more pics when your done. One thing I regret with my resto & paint is not taking pics. I have one pic of my car before fixing all the many thing I did. Oh well still looks great know. Good luck with it

Congrats Dave! I know this has been a long process for you and you have put in a lot of effort to get to this point.

It looks great! And, need I say, EXCELLENT color choice.

Keep us posted!

I agree, on color choice. But, at least, you're not too close...

Thanks for all the encouragement - On colour, I was torn between the original L13K Yellow or silver, though I like that bright 'late mid-life crisis' green ;-), orange or white. (or that steely 911 light blue, or...)
It has been a lot of work Bob, with life consistently getting in the way!
I'm going with the vinyl - no real reason other than I like the 914/6GT look, and I found out how to order the material from an upholstery shop for a normal price. One thing I detest about Porsches is the ridiculous prices asked for some parts. While scandalous OEM parts pricing does guarantee a healthy aftermarket, it grates me that 'mystique', yesterday's 'bloodlines', and other marketing/branding BS are used to rationalize today's (often VW) parts prices. Must... control.. rant...

Regrettably the flares are 'glass, not steel. I attached them to the car but a bodyman faired them. If int'd read more here:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3582&highlight=epoxy
If I had known about the the mittlemotor steel flares for $800 for four I would have done that. At the time, steel appeared to be double that. I've read that 'glass flares are fine, but the time and effort (and money) invested in the car would have warranted the bit extra for steel.

Again, thanks for the encouragement. This BBS is a great place.
