sorry for asking so many questions guys....i followed daves 2.0 914 1974 hose diagram....but i have a question...if you look in the haynes manuel on page 57 that shows the 2.0 air cleaner, there are two hose outlets on the front (a and b), then a third behind "b"...this is "c"...and one the end by itself "d"...okay...if you look at daves(thanks again for all the help..) hose diagram...there is two in the back and one in the front....looking at the drawing i would say the aux air regulator goes to the second hose outlet...haynes says the second outlet "b" goes to the fuel tank vent....??? and the first outlet goes to the decel valve...haynes shows it going to the overrun air supply???...and so on....just want to make sure i get it right...first time doing a complete re-build by myself.....thanks again for all the help and clarification........promise when i'm finished to post some pics...john c.

Try comparing to this diagram:
http://members.rennlist.com/chuxter/914Hoses.html It's for a '73 2.0 but it's mostly the same. My '74 2.0 pretty much matches it except I only have one vacuum hose coming off the distributor's vacuum advance. The second port is capped off. BTW, does anyone know if you can still get the red and green colored vacuum hose? |

Red and green hoses
AA has them as a pre-cut kit and mine just came in the other day. They are nice to say the least and the price was ok. All I know is they make my new engine look spiffy.
