White Lenses!!!!!
Has anyone ever heard of bleaching lenses, you know the orange oval lenses on the front of your 914? If so how long did they soak or are there any special techniques required.

You can purchase the clear "Italian" signal lenses, they're clear/white. But you might have to shave the side markers for it to look right. Italian 914's have clear signal lenses and no side marker.

The lenses I have seen are not the cheap replacement type that bleaching works on. Some cheap replacement lenses have a coating for color and are not colored plastic. I have only heard that trick from Chevy people.. there you made me say it Chevy..argh
Unfortuately John is refering to the numeous catalogs that have these lenses but failed to note the NLA "no longer available" in the price column. I tried the Italian 914 club with no luck and I have not seen the lenses for sale for about 8 years. Sorry for the bad news.. |
