New here, but not to the 914
Hello,
I just cruised over here from Rennlist. I think I can handle two forums :) I have a 74 2.0 with minor issues that will be resolved by a coming engine rebuild in the winter time. The suspension is all new, as is the interior. I lived in the US for the past 6 years and now Im back in Germany. Already I have a question. Will a 1971 speedometer work in my 914. Theres one on ebay.de and I need one in KMH for driving the teener over here in germany (Its not even here yet, but one has to prepare) Thanks a lot, Christoph :D |
Work....yup.....as to being accurate, depends on the tire size.

If you are talking about a 1971 911 speedo, the answer is I'm not sure. I remember that the right angle drive on the 911 and 914s with 901 trannys are different (or so i was told), so that might account for the different final drive ratio.
Welcome to the board, plenty of real sharp people here (not me:-) who are willing to help. |
Ya'voll. It's not the angle drive, but the worm gear on the end of the "Pinion" shaft. They is a little different.
